ABOUT THE ROLE
We are on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineering Manager (Mobile App), Dubai. As the most senior member of the App team in Dubai, you would provide technical and strategic leadership across the app scrum teams located there. Vendor management, collaboration and a desire to improve are second nature to you. In addition, you value good software engineering and agile practices and have a proven track record in leading multiple agile teams delivering to a variety of stakeholders.
- Manage the app scrum teams in Dubai and foster a supportive and productive environment that leads to success. Oversee the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) of key staff within these teams.
- Work with the Software Engineering Managers in each of the App scrum teams to ensure there is consistency in our approach and robust support for all the teams to enable them to deliver the commitments they have made.
- Set a clear vision for the teams and crafting a strategic growth plan for the overall team to ensure comprehensive development and success across the organization.
- Partner your Senior Engineering Manager peers to ensure effective collaboration within the teams and make decisions that prioritize the team's best interests.
- Work with the SVP and Head of App to agree and deliver the broader App objectives and goals across the global app organisation.
- Identifying new technologies, tools and working practices to help continually improve standards. Familiarity with mobile apps of robot vacuum cleaners is a good to have.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimally 10 years of experience in Software/App development with 4 years of people management experience.
- Strong mobile engineering background as either an iOS or Android specialist, with the ability to guide and mentor developers across both platforms.
- If iOS‑focused: Deep proficiency in Swift, MVVM, RxSwift, SwiftUI, Combine.
- If Android‑focused: Strong expertise in Kotlin, with hands‑on experience in Volley, RxJava, and Dagger.
