Data Protection Intern

About the role

The Data Protection Intern supports the Privacy Office in keeping the company compliant with UAE data protection laws.

The role gives hands-on exposure to the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain our data inventory and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), including data categories, purposes, legal bases and retention periods.
  • Assist with DPIAs and privacy reviews
  • Update data privacy policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and business needs.
  • Help track regulatory updates.
  • Update data maps and data flow inventories with business teams.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or Recent graduate in Law, Information Security, Business or a related field.
  • Genuine interest in data protection and basic knowledge of Middle East data privacy laws, particularly the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
  • Clear written English, strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.

familiarity with UAE PDPL and progress toward CIPP/E or CIPM
