Amazon's Human Rights and Social Impact program drives customer trust, business continuity, and sustainable social impact by embedding respect for human rights and the environment throughout Amazon's entire value chain. We implement company-wide standards and commitments such as ourGlobal Human Rights Principles (GHRP)andSupply Chain Standards (SCS). We seek to continuously improve the tools and processes used in integrating human rights and environmental due diligence across the business.

The Human Rights Compliance Manager serves as the core case manager and case-level Single Threaded Leader (STL) within the Global Remediation and Investigation Team (GRIT), managing actual human rights and environmental impacts meeting Human Rights and Social Impact (HRSI) Escalation Criteria within AMET. This role combines technical human rights expertise with remediation design and oversight, investigation coordination, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving to ensure effective resolution of complex cases while maintaining rigorous documentation and data integrity standards. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of impact management: investigation, corrective action, remedy, and stakeholder response coordination.

Requirements

  • Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with case management, issue resolution, or remediation programs
  • Strong understanding of human rights principles, labor standards, and remediation methodologies
  • Proven experience conducting investigations and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, PR, HR, sourcing)
  • Proven ability to engage with cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify patterns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to document findings clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously within SLA

requirements

  • Willingness to travel for supplier site visits as needed
  • Proficiency with case management systems and data quality standards
  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
  • Fluent Hindi, Bengali or Nepali speaker
  • Knowledge of international labor standards and human rights frameworks (ILO, UN Guiding Principles)
  • Experience in global supply chains or manufacturing environments
  • Experience with crisis communication or stakeholder coordination during escalations
  • Proficiency with case management systems and data quality standards, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously within SLA
